The Visual Weight of Primary and Secondary Action Buttons

Visual weight is how users compare the button priority. The button with the most visual weight will get the most user attention. When you have more than one button on your interface, it’s important that the primary action button gets the most visual weight. The primary action button is normally the button that completes the user’s task. By giving the primary action button the most visual weight, you’ll make the user’s task flow faster, so they can complete their task easier

Photoshop CS3+ opens up 8 web browser windows after I use the color picker

Anyone else get this when they use the color picker?

werkshow:

Designer Steve Kuhl fulfills every boy’s fantasy with this insanely cool pirate ship bedroom. The six-year-old occupant from Minnesota chose between a space ship, race car, castle, and pirate ship. Most of us would probably agree, he made an excellent decision. The main feature of the room is the incredible floating pirate ship. Kuhl used 2x12 ribs to construct the hull of the ship, covering them with layers of 1/2 inch plywood to act as the planking. A bomb-proof blend of plaster and epoxy with integrated coloring was used simulate an old ship’s hull. But that’s not all. The room is also decked out with a rope bridge that connects the pirate ship to the top of a jail cell, and a rope suspended from the ship’s hull provides drop-in access to the closet. There’s also a completely hidden spiral slide, that lets you travel downstairs in a more adventurous way.

Dear Stock Photographers, I hate you.

This should be a gem. This fills everything I need AND it’s not a photo of a white family (which there is an overwhelming abundance of).

Except one thing…

The jackass cropped off half of her goddamned left extremities!!

It is not a stock photographers job to crop things. That’s my job, the designer. I know where the photo will end up. I want to smack the crap outta whoever cropped this. They just ruined my damn day, I have to look at stock photos for another 2 hours to find another photo that’s any good and hope that it hasn’t been cropped by an idiot.

Soon my eyes will be numb.
